You never need these. Everything required to solve each cache is on its cache page and in the field. Each tool runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and it keeps working once it has loaded, even if you lose signal.
The tools
- Read the Sign For (line, word, character) sign puzzles: type the sign, paste the formula, and see what the sign says, with a trace of every triple.
- Coordinate Formulas For finals given as formulas: paste them in, fill in the values you’ve found, and get the coordinates with the working, range checks, and the distance from the listed coordinates.
- Day of the Week The day of the week for any date, worked out in your head with John Conway's Doomsday rule: the formulas, why they work, a calculator that shows every step, and practice.
- The Eldritch Index Hunting one small fact through pages of lore: paste the pages, throw words at them, and see which passages answer and every number they hold. It can’t tell you whether you’ve found an answer.
- Red Herring This might come in handy for something...
- Folder · 9 worksheets Asymmetric Cryptosystems Guided worksheets for public-key puzzles, one per cryptosystem, plus four short lessons: symmetric and asymmetric ciphers, modular arithmetic, turning numbers back into text, and working mod n².
- Folder · 4 tools Polytopes Interactive references for shape puzzles: Nets and Folding (polyhedron nets, nets you draw yourself, and hexaflexagons), Polychora (the regular four-dimensional polytopes, star ones included, turning in 4D), Polygons (regular and star polygons, their angles, sizes and diagonals) and Polyhedra (every uniform polyhedron, star ones included, plus the Catalan solids, prisms and antiprisms, in 3D), with a shared notepad.
